UTEC invests $1.5 million at Huntington plant

The Huntington City Council has approved a tax abatement request for UTEC as the company plans to invest approximately $1.5 million at its Huntington plant.

The investment provides new equipment to support production quality improvements and advanced technology for their manufacturing process. The company currently employs about 750 people, making it Huntington County's largest manufacturing employer.

UTEC is a division of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE symbol UTX). The Huntington facility, operating as UTEC, is the world's leading provider of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, building controls, automation, and fire and security solutions.

"It's always exciting to see UTEC continue to invest and grow in Huntington," said Mark Wickersham, executive director, Huntington County Economic Development. "UTEC is a fantastic corporate citizen. We're very proud they call Huntington their home."
