Location - Workforce - Value are Huntington County's strengths.
Huntington County is named in recognition of Samuel Huntington, of Connecticut, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and President of the Continental Congress under the Articles of Confederation. Huntington County's geographic location has always made it a key logistics location whether for the Native American Miami Nation or for steel fabricators for today's autmotive industry. Located in the Fort Wayne, Indiana Metropolitan Statisical Area, Huntington County's transporation needs are served by I-69, 4-lane U.S. 24, the Norfolk-Southern Railroad, and the Huntington Municipal Airport (5001 foot runway) and Fort Wayne International Airport.
