Regional Report Confirms Local Success

Huntington County Economic Development clients accounted for nearly $54 million in new private capital investments during 2014. "Last year, fifteen client projects were facilitated in Huntington County. That's a single year record during my tenure at the agency,"said Mark Wickersham, executive director of Huntington County Economic Development. 
 
The Community Research Institute of Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne in collaboration with the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership recently released their 2014 Business Dynamics Report, confirming that industrial development activity in Huntington County accounted for commitments to create 517 new jobs. Huntington County trailed only Allen County/Fort Wayne in both the number of new job commitments and private capital investments among the ten county region.  
 
"The Huntington County Chamber of Commerce also experienced a record number of projects among the small business, retail and restaurant sector in Huntington County,"Wickersham added. "We knew 2014 was a very encouraging year for economic growth in Huntington County, but is always nice to learn of out-side confirmation of those results,"he concluded.
