Permits for New Homes on the Rise

The number of permits for construction of new homes in Huntington County is higher than one year ago according to a July 20 article in the Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly.

Twenty-three permits have been approved year to date in Huntington County compared to twenty at this time last year.  The average cost per new home under construction has also increased from $195,858 last year to $251,035 this year.  The article sources the data from the Home Builders Association of Fort Wayne.

"We have a robust economy and the residential home market in Huntington County is reflective of that trend," said Mark Wickersham, executive director of Huntington County Economic Development Corporation.  "Northeast Indiana is a great place to live, work and play," he concluded.
