July Jobs Report Remains Strong

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development has released the July 2015 Unemployment Report.  The rate for Huntington County remained stable at 4.3%.  The rate is down significantly from July of 2014 when it stood at 6.7%.

The total number of Huntington County residents counted in the overall labor force has grown 409 since January of this year and 598 more County residents are employed now compared to January.  "Our local statistics are very encouraging," said Mark Wickersham, executive director of Huntington County Economic Development Corporation.

Private sector employment in Indiana surpassed all previous historical benchmarks in July and new unemployment insurance claims continue to decline and are now at their lowest levels since 1999 according to a statement from Steven J. Braun, Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
