Huntington University trustees choose first woman president in school history

almost a year of searching, interviewing candidates and narrowing the field,
Huntington University has finally chosen its new president.

Sherilyn R. Emberton, HU's first female president, was chosen as the
university's 13th president to succeed retiring G. Blair Dowden, who will step
down on May 31.

directors, said that the Texas native will usher the university into a new era,
with emphasis on program development and innovative ideas.
