Huntington, IN- Area Development Magazine has noted Huntington as one of two Indiana communities to watch in 2011.  Locations were ranked according to attraction of business investments, job creation, and positive economic outlooks.  A large factor of Huntington's ranking is the $9.1 million Continental Structural Plastics expansion, creating 350 jobs.  In the coming year, growth of Helena Chemical, a division of Tokyo based Marubeni Corporation,  will likely play a significant role in the growing success of Huntington County with their current $22 million project.
 
HCUED's Executive Director Mark Wickersham is very optimistic on the future of Huntington County, stating "Its very encouraging to see the hard work and dedication of Huntington County recognized.  This is even more proof of the success a community can acheive when citizens, government officials, and community leaders unite in an effort to promote a growing economy."
