DIY Group Purchases Former Stride Rite Building

The DIY Group of Muncie, Indiana, has announced in cooperation with Zacher & Company of Fort Wayne, the purchase of the former Stride Rite Building in Huntington's Riverfork Industrial Park. The company will operate a warehouse and distribution center at the facility on behalf of its clients, including Weaver Popcorn of Van Buren, Indiana.

"The Weaver family has a long history in Huntington, Indiana, and DIY will be a welcome addition to the Huntington business community," said Mark Wickersham, executive director, Huntington County Economic Development. "We’re very proud the company selected our community and offer our congratulations and support.”

The 408,000 square-foot facility in Huntington's Riverfork Industrial Park was among the largest buildings on the market north of Indianapolis and among the last major existing facilities on the market in Huntington. No economic development incentives were used in the transaction.  DIY has already hired several warehouse workers and started operations at the facility.
