According to the statistics released by the State of Indiana, the total workforce in Huntington County was up as was the number of workers employed. In addition, the number of unemployed workers dropped by 252 from the previous reporting period.

"This is the third consecutive month our employment picture has improved in Huntington County," said Mark Wickersham, executive director, Huntington County Economic Development.

"The rate for Huntington County has dropped significantly since January's report of 9.4% and even more dramatically since the unemployment peak of 14.3% reported in June 2009. The Northeast Indiana region has similarly improved, and we are encouraged by these trends."
