April Unemployment Rate Drops

 
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development in cooperation with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, has released the April 2019 Unemployment Report.  The rate for Huntington County, Indiana, was reported at 3%, down from March's rate of 4.1%.
 
"The number of Huntington County residents counted in the overall workforce grew as did the number of people employed," said Mark Wickersham, executive director of the Huntington County Economic Development Corporation.  "There are also 212 few peopled reported among the unemployed in April compared to March," he added.
 
According to job posting site Indeed.com, 214 job openings are reported within 10 miles of downtown Huntington.  "The jobs report is very encouraging news for April," Wickersham concluded.
