Advanced Engineering Opens New Expansion

Huntington County Economic Development client, Advanced Engineering, held a ribbon cutting and ceremony for their second facility in Huntington County.  The new site will produce orthopedic surgical kits as well as other injection molded products.  Senior partner Phil Layman gave a tour of the new facility for the dozens of elected officials and onlookers.  Advanced Engineering placed a $1.2 million capital investment into the project which converted an old airplane hanger into their manufacturing space and clean room assembly.  Huntington County Economic Development Executive Director Mark Wickersham said he was excited to see several months of planning and working with the county come to this end result as it will create jobs and put more money into Huntington County.  "A lot of people worked hard on a number of municipal levels," Wickersham said.  "...It takes a team to make a project like this succeed."  The new 23,500-square-foot site is expected to create 15 new jobs for the county.
