65 New Jobs Coming to Huntington as Transwheel Corporation Expands

Huntington, Indiana --

Transwheel Corporation, a division of Chicago based LKQ Corporation, has officially announced plans to create 65 new jobs at their Huntington, Indiana facility, while retaining 157 existing positions at the plant.  Transwheel is the largest domestic source for replacement wheels and wheel covers to body shops, tire stores and wheel distributors, will invest more than $2.2 million in the process.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Huntington County Commissioners, and the City of Huntington worked together to offer an incentive package which encouraged the Company to stay in Huntington and consolidate operations from Saranac, Michigan and Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The project involves "reclaiming" an abandoned manufacturing building in Huntington's Riverforks Industrial Park, creating a distribution center in the 155,000 square foot facility.  By creating the new distribution space, Transwheel's existing facility will be able to add new manufacturing capacity.

"Huntington is very fortunate to have the opportunity to retain 157 existing jobs and add 65 new jobs while simultaneously reactivating an abandoned 155,000 square foot manufacturing building," said Mark Wickersham, Executive Director of HUCED.
