Town of Markle Considers Fiber-Optic Project

The Town of Markle, Indiana, recently commissioned and received a consulting report in the quest for meeting the Community's need for high speed internet and other digital communications possibilities.  The report, presented at a public meeting on November 14, attended by approximately 75 residents of the Town, estimated the cost to "build-out" the Community with fiber-optic infrastructure at $1.5 million.

The Town is considering a variety of potential ways to meet consumer demand and no decisions have been made nor formally debated.  Officials from both the Huntington County Economic Development Corporation and Wells County Economic Development are consulting with the Town about the potential opportunity.
