Regional partnership CEO addresses Huntington Rotary Club

John Sampson, CEO of the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership was the keynote speaker at the Huntington Rotary Club on August 11.  He presented the club with a progress report of the Indiana Regional Cities Initiative and the formation of the Northeast Indiana Regional Development Authority (RDA).

The Indiana Regional Cities Initiative was created earlier this year by action of the Indiana General Assembly.  The program establishes the Indiana Regional Cities Fund to provide grants and loans to regional development authorities to be used to improve the "quality of place" assets in selected "regional cities."  The $84 million program is administered by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.

Sampson has led the effort to organize eleven counties in the Northeast Indiana Region to be members of the RDA.  Huntington County was the first member county to approve a resolution to join the RDA.
