Fiber to the premises launches in Markle, Indiana

Today, officials from the Community Fiber Solutions Company (CFS) were joined by the Huntington County Commissioners, Markle Town Board Members, client companies Novae Corporation, United REMC, iAB Bank, and others in announcing a new fiber optic infrastructure project now available to customers in Markle, Indiana.

The project as described by CFS, is "aimed at bringing fiber optic technology and the 'speed of light'" to Internet consumers in Markle.

The services, which are now available, serve industrial clients, the Markle Industrial Park and limited residential areas in the town. Eventually, CFS hopes to provide service to anyone in Markle interested in receiving faster Internet and other technologies.

"It takes a collaborative effort on the part of a lot of people to make this sort of thing happen," said Mark Wickersham, executive director, Huntington County Economic Development.  "To do business in the 21st century, high-speed Internet is as critical today as having water, sewer, electricity and roads in the past."

Mark Clemens, CFS operations manager, added, "This project simply wouldn't have happened without the support of the economic development team in Huntington County. They've really been great to work with."
