February Unemployment Rate is 4.9%

 

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development recently released the February Unemployment Report.  The rate for Huntington County was reported at 4.9%, up slightly from January's 4.7%.

 

Even with the slight increase, the report indicates 300 more people were employed in February compared to January.  The ranks of the unemployed grew by 63 during the reporting period which covers January 11-February 10.  The rate is down from 5.3% one year ago.  Overall there are 648 additional members of the workforce compared to one year ago.
