Onward Manufacturing to Create 300 New Jobs in Huntington
Canadian barbeque gas grill manufacturer, Onward Manufacturing Company, Limited, of Waterloo, Ontario (http://www.omcbbq.com) opened its first U.S. assembly plant in Huntington, Indiana.  The company is making a multi-million investment and intends to hire 300 new workers from Huntington and the surrounding area.
Onward Manufacturing was established in 1904 and produces grills under various brand labels including Broil King, Broil-Mate and Grill Pro.  The Company will be introducing a new product line from their Indiana facility called Huntington Forge.
Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels was on hand for the Community celebration at Onward's plant at 1000 East Market Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Company CEO Ted Witzel explained that the Company selected Huntington over China, Mexico, and Canada.  Governor Daniels and local officials applauded Onward and the State's economic development teams for working very hard to help secure the project for Huntington.
The plant has started operations and has hired approximately 100 workers so far as they work toward full production as soon as possible.
