Huntington Ranked in Top 100 Micropolitans by Site Selection Magazine March 1, 2022 Report Site Selection Magazine announced their Top 100 U.S. Metropolitan and Top 100 U.S. Micropolitan economic development Communities from 2021 in their March 2022 Magazine Issue. Since 1988, the publication annually announces their awards as part of their "Governor's Cup Awards" recognition. Huntington tied for 39th nationally among the Top 100 Micropolitan Markets (cities with populations between 10,000 and 50,000 with economic development projects involving at least $1,000,000 or the addition of at least 20,000 square feet of new floor area) having previously earned the award recognition from Site Selection in 2019 and 6 times overall since 2010. "It's exciting to be considered among the best," said Mark Wickersham, executive director of the Huntington County Economic Development Corporation. "There are just over 2,000 communities of our size in the U.S. according to census statistics. It's a very competitive list and several Indiana Communities are in the peer group," Wickersham added.
