May Unemployment at 3.2% June 19, 2023 Report The Indiana Department of Workforce Development in cooperation with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has released the May Unemployment Report for Indiana. The rate for workers residing in Huntington County is 3.2%. According to job posting site, Indeed.com, 442 jobs are immediately available within 10 miles of downtown Huntington. The May Unemployment data in Indiana (3.5%) is stronger than national rate (3.7%). Huntington County (3.2%) is still below the State-wide rate, the data, however, is trending upward. The April rate for Huntington County was 2.4%. "Recent lay-off and plant closure announcements in neighboring Counties, combined with expected seasonal adjustments, have made an impact on the Huntington County data," said Mark Wickersham, executive director for the Huntington County Economic Development Corporation.
