The United States Vice Presidential Museum at the Dan Quayle Center 
Huntington, Indiana is the hometown of the 44^th Vice President of the United States, Dan Quayle.  The former Vice President has donated his entire collection of Official State Gifts, Letters, and both his Senatorial and House Papers to the United States Vice Presidential Museum at the Dan Quayle Center.  The Center’s Collection includes memorabilia from all former Vice Presidents and is the only museum/educational research center of its kind.

The Forks of the Wabash Historic Museum and Park 
Huntington County was historically the home of the Native American Miami Tribe.  The Forks of the Wabash River, the junction of the Wabash and Little Rivers, served as a center of commerce for the Tribe.  In addition, to the Native American history of Huntington County, the museum also details the history of the Wabash & Erie Canal as it traversed the countryside of Huntington County.

 

The Sumner Sheets Wildlife Museum 
This museum features the “trophy collection” of Huntington resident and big game hunter, Sumner Sheets.  His career is unrivaled in the region as is this splendid wildlife collection.

 

The Huntington County Historical Museum  
Located in downtown Huntington, this center includes memorabilia and history from throughout the history of Huntington County.

The U.S.S. Salamonie Museum
Located in Warren, Indiana, this is the premier collection of memorabilia and other artifacts from the World War II warship The U.S.S. Salamonie. 

J. Edward Roush Lake and Kilsoquah Campground and Beach  
This State Recreation Area and reservoir created by the J. Edward Roush Dam on the Wabash River encompasses 8,217 acres of land and an 870 acre lake.  It provides ample opportunities for boating, fishing, tubing, water skiing, swimming, trails and camping.  Named in honor of Huntington Native, former U.S. Congressman J. Edward Roush, who served on the House Appropriations Committee and oversaw the funding for many of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers flood control projects throughout the Wabash River Basin.

 

Salamonie River State Forest and Reservoir  
Created by the dam on the Salamonie River, this recreation area encompasses 12,433 acres of land and a 2,665 acre lake.  Facilities include bridal trails and a horsemen’s camp, along with a 26 mile snowmobile trail.

Huntington Parks & Area Recreational Trail System  
Over 36 miles of hiking trails are already found throughout Huntington County with the City of Huntington preparing to construct more local trails within the greenway of the Little River.

There are six public golf courses in Huntington County, including our newest Dogwood Glen at Warren.

A variety of athletic activities and venues are available in Huntington County including;Huntington North High School Athletics, Huntington University Athletics, Huntington YMCA, Police Athletic League, Parkview Huntington Hospital Health & Fitness Center, the Warren Knight-Bergman Civic Center and numerous Huntington County Little League Baseball teams and facilities.
